Inquiry Submission By Alex H
If you have been in or around Siem Reap, particularly near the night market or Pub Street, you may have been approached by a woman holding a baby close to her hip, who claims that she does not want money but she needs powered milk to feed her baby. The baby likely looks tired, worn out, almost drugged up.
Please be aware that this is a SCAM.
You will walk to the store where you can buy powdered milk and they will likely go for the highest price option ($30 – $35). The woman will come with you to the store.
DO NOT DO THIS.
All of the formula that?s purchased is promptly returned, with the proceeds being split with the store. Some people even suspect that these women are run by a mafia of sorts, and some say the babies are rented for this scam.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.
