I have just had the most excellent tour experience with Mr Kat (+855 10 682 710) who made sure I had the best experience of Siem Reap and Angkor Watt, even though I was only there for just over 24 hours! Throughout the trip he was safe, considerate and ensured I made the most of my time, and his constant supply of ice cold water and cold menthol towels were exactly what I needed to cope with the intense heat of the area. I found his details on a TripAdvisor forum and managed to contact him on WhatsApp. He was courteous, informative and timely with all his communication, and kept my mind at ease. He was able to pick me up from the airport and took advantage of my earlier arrival to get my ticket for the temple site immediately, thus saving time tomorrow morning. He made time to take me to a sunset spot for photos and then took me to my hotel. Although I haven?t planned it in my itinerary, he even ensured that he could drop me and pick me up from town late at night for dinner.
The next day, without his insight and planning there is no way I would have made it to get the best sunrise spots at Angkor Wat for my photos. He knew exactly where to walk to avoid the rush of the early crowd and stayed with me for the entire sunrise helping me with my photos and other people too. Afterwards, he took me away from Angkor Wat to one of the oldest temples on the site, Ta Prom which was far quieter. We then did short stops at Ta Keo and the Ancient Bridge for photos, and then the Victory Gate and Dead Gate (Dead Gate was very much off the beaten track and was a great treat!). I was then able to explore the temples of Ankor Thom, including the iconic Bayon Temple with its numerous giant stone faces.
After lunch at an excellent restaurant that Mr Kat recommended, I then was able to return to Angkor Wat to see the temple. Thanks to his planning, it was very quiet in the temple as it was around lunchtime and I felt like I had the whole place to myself! Mr Kat then ensured I had time back at my hotel to freshen up and took a detour to ensure I could get some last photos of Angkor Watt before he took me to the airport. The cost of the tour I had was $18, with airport drop off and pick up being an extra $6 and the sunrise experience being an extra $5. So well worth it!
A professional, safe and excellently managed trip, Mr Kat is a must if you are visiting Siem Reap
