Ok, I’ve been straggling with the “perfect” Siem Reap itinerary for sometime now. My ambition was to combine an easy going temple visits with minimal crowds and nice light for picture taking, with some local town sightseeing and without being “killed” in the process. I thought I had it all planned, but am overthinking it, and having second thoughts – so you input will be very beneficial to my mental state:)

day 1 – 7am, Angkor Thom complex (Bayon, Baphuuon, the Terraces, etc)

back to the hotel noonish for a few hours rest

3pm, back to Angkor Wat for a few hours

dinner and early to bed

day 2 – 5am, sunrise at Pre Rup with a stop on the way at Srah Srang

Banteay Srei, followed by a trek to Kbal Spean

lunch

trip to the floating village

dinner and early to bed

day 3 – 5am, sunrise at Angkor Wat

Preah Khan / Ta Som / Ta Promh / Neak Pean

back to the hotel by 1pm or so

rest

explore town / old market / riverside / Pub Street / may be a show

day 4 – 1/2 day – explore the town by light / do some presents shopping / lunch /

depart

What would you change/improve? … it seems like day 2 is very long and busy, and day 3 is less so, although both start at 5am. I could have done the floating village on day 4, but would rather not stray too far from town on the departure day. I’m Ok buying the 7 days ticket to the park, if it makes my days better organized. Its the light for the pics and the crowds that I have to deal with čÖé
