Me and another 3 (or maybe 5 of us- all women) plan to travel to Cambodia on feb 10 2019. We have a rough itinerary in place and we are not on a liberal budget.
3 nights in SR
1 in Battambang
1 in bus/car to kampot
3 nights in kampot ( one day trip to kep)
2 nights in koh rong samloem
1 night PP
A little stuck on a couple of things here
1) 11,12 and 13 nights are in siem reap, 14th feb we plan to go to Battambang. Wconsidering a boat trip there but the TA reveiws are not encouraging from the VFM perspective, also water level might be less. But we need a legitimate boating experience in any of the rivers or tonle sap. So is it better to do a tour of floating markets in siem reap and take road route to battambang or avoid floating markets altogether and go by boat to battambhang.
2) To travel from battambang to kampot are night buses or even when taking a shared cab for a night ride for women only traveller group advisable. Is there a more time efficient way of reaching kampot from battambang
3) Will it make sense to come back to siem reap and travel to kampot from battambang ( wondering for ease of connectivity reason) or is it just backtracking and waste of time and money)
TIA for any suggestions on these. Any other suggestions on itinerary also welcome
